FAQs
Do you have milk available?
We are not currently licensed to sell milk.
Are your cows grass fed?
They are fed a TMR (Total Mixed Ration) with feedstocks we grow on our farm and are out on pasture in seasonable weather evenings. Our nutritionist helps us to create a perfect diet for them, so they get all the nutrients they need! During winter (when the grass is not growing or available for the cows to graze), we feed them grass, alfalfa, and clover grown on our farm, that we harvest in the growing season along with protein and minerals.
Does your cheese contain artificial ingredients or preservatives?
No! We use all natural ingredients, milk, culture, rennet, and a sprinkle of salt and traditional cheesemaking methods. The coloring in our Franklin Road is annatto, which is a coloring from the seeds of the achiote tree.
Do you offer tours?
Farm tours: We offer farm tours in late summer and in the fall! We’ll show you around the farm where you’ll meet the cows and learn how we utilize the crops to nourish the cows, and how their milk becomes the cheese you love! We’ll end the tour at the on- farm store for a shortened “Cheese Chat.”
Cheese Chats: We off “Cheese Chats” in the other seasons where we show you around the on-farm store, give a rundown of the cheese and ice cream making processes, and tell you our story!
Custom tours: We are happy to customize our tours to meet the needs of your group! If standing or walking is a challenge, let us know- we’ll adjust the experience so everyone can comfortably enjoy it.
We require a minimum of 10 guests per tour. Please contact us at 319-470-6819 or at in**@*************ry.com for more information and to schedule yours!
